Do not recycle these items:

  • Motor oil, insecticide, herbicide or hazardous chemical containers
  • Plastic grocery bags, plastic film (Saran wrap, tarps or plastic drop cloths/sheets)
  • Expanded foam or polystyrene materail
  • Plastic toys, light bulbs, window glass, dinnerware or ceramics
  • Dirty cardboard pizza bottoms

These items may be recycled:

  • #1 plastic soda & water bottles
  • Aluminum cans, trays and foil.  Milk and juice containers, steel and tin cans
  • #2 plastic milk and juice jugs, detergent and fabric softener bottles
  • #3 plastic narrow neck containers only.  Health and beauty aid products, household cleaners
  • #4 plastic margarine tubs, frozen dessert cups, six-pack rings
  • #5 plastic yogurt cups, narrow neck syrup and ketchup bottles
  • #7 plastic narrow neck containers
  • Plastic kitty litter containers; 5-gallon size maximum
  • Glass bottles and jars, newspapers, including inserts, cardboard, brown paper bags, soda & beer carrying cases
  • Shredded paper, magazines, catalogs, phone books, office-, computer- and notebook papers, gift wrap
  • Cereal, cake and food mix boxes with all plastic liners removed
  • Junk mail and envelopes (including windowed envelopes) and paper back books (hard cover with front and backs removed)

All containers should be emptied and rinsed out.  Larger cardboard boxes should be broken down and placed next to the blue recycling bags.
